KESHO YETU CLIMATE BOOTCAMP

UNA Tanzania conducted The Kesho yetu Climate Bootcamp from 23rd to 27th January 2023 in Dar es salaam. The Climate Bootcamp was a week long learning for the 3 best teams from the Kesho Yetu Climate Hackathon that happened from 23rd -25th Sept 2022.The main objective was to foster youth-led climate resilient innovations. The Bootcamp facilitated the development of the ideas from the winning teams and paved the way for their future ambition. This was a chance for the teams to accelerate their ideas and turn them into visions.

During the Climate Bootcamp the participants obtained the opportunity to be mentored by experts from The Embassy of Ireland in Tanzania, Save The Children Tanzania, Redefine Africa, CRDB Bank, The Business Registrations and Licensing Agency in Tanzania (BRELA) and The Digital Opportunity Trust (DOT) Tanzania. Important topics were discussed which were; Introduction to Climate Change Policies and Governance, Human Rights and Climate Change with a focus on Childrens Rights, Human Centred Design, Climate Change Opportunities & financing, Intellectual Property Rights, Pitching & Presentation Skills.

UNA Tanzania aims at inspiring  youth to take action towards climate resilience by taking care of their environment, through positive changing of mindsets, awareness on social and mass media, essay competitions, climate change dialogues, planting trees, beach clean-up, recycling and supporting youth led innovation towards climate resilience.
